DE Dreads | Double Ended

Showing 1–24 of 60 results

DE dreads, or double ended dreads, are dreadlock extensions without a loop. Each dread folds over a thin braid of your own hair, so one attachment gives two ends and the braid stays hidden. This is the format for volume: fewer attachments, a fuller head.

How DE dreads are installed

Your hair is divided into sections, each section is braided thinly, and a dread is folded over that braid. A DE install is temporary. It is worn for 1.5–2 months, then the dreads come out and can go straight back in, with no break needed.

Human hair or synthetic

We make DE dreads in every material: human hair dreads from 100% Remy hair, and synthetic smooth, textured and curly dreads. Curly dreads come only as DE.

How many DE dreads you need

For a full head you need 40–45 DE dreads for thin hair, 50–55 for medium hair and 60–65 for dense hair. The dread calculator also covers partial installs on the crown or the back of the head.

DE, SE or Extension

DE gives volume and hides the braid. SE dreads have a loop, give one end per attachment and suit the face line and the nape. Extension is crocheted into your own dreads to lengthen them for good.
