Natural Dreadlock Extensions at the Back of the Head — Studio Install

Adding length to the back of the head is often trickier than the front — the hair is thinner, the sections are smaller, and every crochet stroke has to sit clean against the scalp so nothing shows through when the client turns their head. On this project we worked with a 0.4 mm crochet hook and extensions made from natural hair, blending each new dread into the client’s own base. The whole set took around eight hours.

Because we build the extensions from real hair, the roots stay soft and the transition between natural growth and extension is invisible once the set relaxes for a few weeks.
