Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix: two shades in one set

The hair in this set is 100% Remy human hair from Russia (what is Remy hair?). Every strand runs with its cuticle in one direction. Not sure whether SE or DE suits your install? Our guide to how single and double ended dreads differ explains which one to pick.

The warm tone is a natural ginger copper: coppery, sun-kissed and earthy, never neon orange or bright red. The cream blonde is sandy and soft, well clear of platinum. Together they look like natural highlights that shift with the light.

The tips stay open and slightly wavy, which lets them swing freely. Black wooden beads, olive green thread wraps and a silver pendant charm decorate the set. Your beads may look different from the ones pictured, since the photos only show examples. Bead and thread colours can be changed on request. Any such change turns it into a custom set that we make from scratch.

How the Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix is made

A crochet hook and a comb are the only tools used to make each Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix dread by hand. We use crochet technique only, with no wrapping. Each dread comes out dense and 0.8–1 cm thick, and it holds its shape install after install.

We make every natural set once it is ordered. More than 5,000 sets have left our studio in over 13 years of work. Each set gets a last inspection from a maker with more than ten years of experience before it ships.

Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix: formats and lengths

A DE dread has no loop and simply folds over a thin braid of your own hair. SE dreads come with a loop that a strand of your hair goes through. That strand is then braided around the dread. A permanent crochet install is also possible. Extension is the permanent format: the dreads are crocheted into your own dreads and stay in, with a correction every 3–4 months.

You can choose from 25 cm (10″), 30 cm (12″), 35 cm (14″), 40 cm (16″), 45 cm (18″), 50 cm (20″), 55 cm (22″) or 60 cm (24″). To find the combination you want, browse all colours and lengths.

Caring for the Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix

  • You wear a temporary install for 1.5–2 months and then take it out. After that, the same set can be reinstalled.
  • Limit washing to no more than once a week. Mix shampoo at five to one, apply it to your scalp only, and rinse it all out.
  • Do not use conditioner. The dreads sit on thin braids of your own hair, and conditioner makes those braids come loose.
  • Use purple shampoo on the blonde dreads to prevent yellowing, and a colour-safe formula on the copper. Avoid deep-cleansing shampoos on both shades.
  • Keep combs and brushes away from the dreads. If the tips tangle, pull them apart by hand. You may carefully cut away a knot that is badly tangled.
  • Dry the set flat between wears and store it without folding.

Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix: mixing with other sets

To mix shades, buy another set as well. To brighten a few sections, you could add 10 DE dreads in cream blonde. Or add 10–20 SE of copper or auburn. Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix itself does not change. Single dreads can also be dyed to tune the blend, since they are human hair.

Worn down, the mix looks like natural highlighting. The copper anchors the look, and the blonde catches the light. Pulled into a half-up bun, more of the mix shows at the crown.

We photograph every set under the same lighting. Your screen and room still affect how the copper and blonde look. Human hair varies between batches, so small differences in tone are expected and are not defects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the contrast in the Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix stay balanced?

The ginger copper holds its colour very well. The cream blonde is lightened real hair, so it may warm slightly with sun and washing. Use purple shampoo on the blonde dreads every two weeks to keep them cool.

How is the Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix different from a full-blonde or full-ginger set?

A one-colour set looks more uniform. This mix looks like highlighted hair: the copper sets the base and the blonde catches the light. It is an alternative to ombré when you want contrast without a root-to-tip gradient.

Can I dye the Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix darker later?

Yes. Being human hair, it takes both semi-permanent and permanent dyes in darker shades. You can deepen the copper toward auburn, or warm the blonde toward caramel. Avoid bleach, because some always stays in the hair and goes on damaging it. For lighter or very different colours, ask about a custom set at daniladaddydread@gmail.com. Dyeing softens the hair, so plan to tighten the dreads with a crochet hook after. See our Academy guides.

Which natural hair colour suits the Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix?

Auburn, red-toned and light to medium brown hair blend most naturally. Your base colour absorbs the copper, while the blonde looks like highlights. For dark or black hair, ask for a custom root-match fade: roots like yours, with both shades running down the length. Email daniladaddydread@gmail.com.

DE or SE: which suits the Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix?

For a full install of usually 40–50 dreads, choose DE so the mix covers your whole head. For a partial install of 20–30 dreads, like highlights over darker hair, SE is a good fit.

Is the Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix made to order?

Yes. We rarely keep finished natural sets in stock, so ask at daniladaddydread@gmail.com before ordering. Delivery price and time for your country appear under the buy button.

Can I get the Ginger Copper & Blonde Mix with a different ginger-to-blonde ratio?

The shop does not offer that, because the listed set never changes. A different ratio is a custom set, and so are other beads, thread wraps or charm. We can match colours from a photo of your hair. Email daniladaddydread@gmail.com.
