Description
Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix is a set of natural DE or SE dreads in warm browns and caramel blonde, handmade from 100% Remy human hair in lengths of 25–60 cm. Five shades run from dark espresso through mid chestnut and warm caramel to sandy honey, with one cream highlight dread. Each dread has a slightly different tone, so the set looks like natural depth rather than a dye job. Dark brown wooden beads, natural cream wooden beads and white cross-thread wraps are already placed by hand.

Material and handwork
This set is made from Remy human hair that comes from Russia (what is Remy hair?). It moves, washes and feels like your own hair. See our format comparison guide before choosing your attachment style.
A crochet hook and a comb are the only tools our makers need to build every dread by hand. No wrapping is used. Every dread in the Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix is 0.8–1 cm thick. The final check on every set is done by a maker who has more than ten years of experience.
Colours and details
The colour mix covers five tones: dark chocolate, mid brown, hazel chestnut, sandy caramel and one off-white cream accent dread. No two dreads look identical, and that variation is part of how the set is put together. The loose wavy tips carry the same warm blend from root to end. Small olive thread accents appear on a few dreads as an earthy boho detail.
Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix: dE or SE
DE dreads have no loop and are folded over a thin braid of your own hair. SE dreads have a loop at one end that goes onto a single strand of your hair. That strand is then braided around the dread. A temporary braid-in install stays in for 1.5–2 months; after you take it out, the dreads can be put in again. For a permanent install, the dreads are crocheted onto your own hair and need correcting every 3–4 months. See every colour option to compare what’s available. Extension is the permanent format: the dreads are crocheted into your own dreads and stay in, with a correction every 3–4 months.
The Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix comes in eight lengths between 25 cm (10″) and 60 cm (24″). A set can contain as few as 10 or as many as 55 dreads. Most full-head installs need 40–50 DE dreads.
Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix: care
- Washing: wash weekly, and always dilute the shampoo first, mixing one part shampoo with five parts water. Focus on the scalp and rinse well.
- No conditioner: the dreads sit on thin braids of your own hair, and conditioner makes those braids come loose.
- Tangles: never comb or brush the dreads. Work tangled tips apart by hand. If a knot is very tangled, you may carefully cut it off.
- Colour care: use a toning shampoo on the coloured tones and purple shampoo on the cream dread to prevent yellowing.
- Wear cycle: plan on 1.5–2 months of wear for a temporary install. After that, remove the dreads, give your hair a break, and braid them back in.

Mixing and styling
These real hair dreads blend well with warm brown and auburn hair. Want more depth? You can buy a second set alongside this one, for example 10 SE dreads in deeper espresso or light wheat blonde. The Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix itself does not change.
In a high bun, the darker dreads gather at the crown while the caramel and cream ones frame the face. Worn loose, the set looks like sun-lightened natural hair. The wooden beads stay quiet in updos and show when the hair is down. You can leave the wavy tips loose for texture or straighten them, using a heat protectant.
About the studio
More than 5,000 sets have been made and shipped by our studio in over 13 years. Every set still gets the same final check by an experienced maker.
The dreads are reusable. Careful removal and flat air-drying between installs keep their structure for many cycles.
We photograph in natural daylight without flash or direct sun so the colours look as true as possible. Screens show colours differently. Small differences from one batch of natural human hair to the next are normal and not a flaw.
Our DaddyDread YouTube channel has install videos in this colour range. You can buy these dreadlock extensions directly from the DaddyDread studio.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many shades are in the Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix set?
Five: dark espresso, mid chestnut, warm caramel, sandy honey and one cream highlight dread. The mix is arranged during production so that neighbouring dreads never match exactly. The result looks like years of natural highlights rather than one dye job.
How do I keep the Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix colours balanced?
Dark espresso and mid chestnut are very stable. Sunlight can make the caramel and sandy honey dreads a little warmer. The cream dread reacts most to UV and needs purple shampoo every 2 weeks. Use a colour-safe, sulfate-free shampoo on the whole set.
Can I dye the Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix dreads later?
Yes, this natural human hair can be dyed darker with semi-permanent or permanent dye. You can deepen single dreads, for example push caramel toward chestnut or darken the cream accent. Keep bleach away from natural dreads, because it never fully rinses out and damages the hair over time. If you want lighter or quite different colours, ask for a custom set at daniladaddydread@gmail.com. Dye relaxes the hair, so a pass with the crochet hook tightens the dreads again. Our guides at our Academy explain how.
Which hair colour suits the Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix?
Warm brunettes blend best: chestnut, auburn, medium brown or caramel hair. The several tones meet your own natural variation and look grown-in. For black hair, we can make a custom root fade that matches your dark roots and lets the five tones run down the length. Email daniladaddydread@gmail.com.
DE or SE: which suits the Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix?
DE shows off the five tones best and suits a full install of 40–50 dreads. SE is the better pick for a partial install, where 20–30 dreads add sun-kissed accents to your own hair. A permanent install attaches the dreads to your own hair by crochet.
Is the Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix made to order?
Yes, natural sets like this one are made to order, so we seldom have one ready in stock. To ask about one, write to daniladaddydread@gmail.com. Shipping time and cost for your country appear below the buy button.
Can I order the Chestnut & Caramel Blonde Mix with a different tone balance or decorations?
Yes, as a custom order. We can change the five-tone balance, for example more cream, more espresso or no honey. We can also swap the wooden beads, white thread wraps or olive accents. Email us a picture of your hair; we'll match the shade and send you progress photos before the set ships. Email daniladaddydread@gmail.com.
