Greige Cream Ombre Smooth Dreads on Layered Short Cut
Layered short haircuts are one of the trickier bases to install extensions onto — you work around uneven section lengths and have to hide the join where the layers change. On this session we built up from a short, feathered cut into a full-length ombre using a smooth synthetic set. The color moves from darker roots into pale blonde tips, so the seam with the client’s natural hair disappears once the set settles in for a few days.
We aimed for weight that still feels light. The client planned to wear this every day, and a heavy install turns into a headache by the second week.
