Description

Handmade in golden blonde that fades into pale champagne, Golden Blonde Ombre offers curly synthetic dreads, double ended and 50–55 cm long. Each dread has a crocheted root that opens into Ariel spirals of henlon.

Honey at the root, champagne at the tip, and a soft golden gradient between them. It looks like blonde hair after a few summers in the sun.

From Creamy Gold to Champagne: How the Gradient Reads

The top third of each strand is a warm, creamy golden blonde. It is rich enough not to look washed out, and light enough to blend with natural dark blonde or highlighted hair. Through the midsection the colour moves through butterscotch and wheat, then lands in a pale champagne blonde at the tips.

There are no hard lines. The colour shifts gradually, the way a real balayage would. In direct sunlight the gradient glows gold. Indoors it softens into a gentle tonal shift that often reads as sun-lightened hair.

Gold metallic thread wraps around sections of the braided accents in a criss-cross stitch and catches the same warm light as the blonde fiber. Some braids carry little leaf and wing pendants in gold-tone zinc alloy, which move with you. Because each one is held by a crimp ring, you can take it off or replace it whenever you like. Your set may come with beads that are not the same as those pictured.

For every 10 DE in the Golden Blonde Ombre set, you get 9 curly dreads and 1 braided accent. A set of 50 gives you 45 curly dreads and 5 thread-wrapped braids. A set of 70 gives you 63 curly dreads and 7 decorated accents.

How the Golden Blonde Ombre set is made

A crochet hook and a comb are the only tools used to make each dread by hand. Ariel spirals spring from a tight crocheted root, roughly 11 cm long, at the top of each piece. Henlon forms the curls; this high-temperature fiber can handle heat of up to about 150 °C.

From root to tip, every dread keeps a thickness of 0.8–1 cm. Before any set leaves the studio, a maker with over ten years of experience inspects it. In more than 13 years, DaddyDread has made and sent out over 5,000 sets.

DE (double ended) dreads have no loop; instead, each one is folded over a thin braid made from your own hair. With both halves falling loose, every ten pieces add up to twenty curly ends.

Caring for the Golden Blonde Ombre curls

Curly dreads need attentive care. The lighter tips show dirt more than a dark set does, so regular washing matters here. Wait two weeks after installation, then wash gently once a week. Dilute a sulfate-free shampoo with water, squeeze it through the fiber without scrubbing, and rinse in cool water.

Do not use conditioner. Conditioner loosens the thin braids of your own hair that hold the dreads in place. After washing, squeeze the dreads gently in a towel and let them air dry flat. Avoid high heat from drying tools, because the curls hold better when air-dried. To refresh the bounce, scrunch them with damp palms. The gold thread wraps tolerate normal washing.

Keep combs and brushes away from the Golden Blonde Ombre dreads. Separate the curls and any tangled tips with your fingers. If a knot is badly tangled, it may be carefully cut off.

One install lasts 1.5–2 months, and a set gives you 2–3 installs. When taking them out, undo the braids, wind the dreads into loose coils and keep them out of direct light.

The golden gradient suits spring and summer, but it reads as warm blonde all year. Mixing colours means adding a second set to your order. You could, for instance, pair these golden pieces with 10 or 20 dreads from a darker set. More colours are in the curly dreads range, formats are explained in the DE vs SE guide, and DaddyDread YouTube shows the gradient moving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Golden Blonde Ombre set match my natural blonde hair?

The creamy root blends with most warm blonde and dark blonde tones. For cooler or ashier hair, add a second set in a neutral tone and put a few of its dreads along the hairline. We shoot our photos in natural daylight so the colour you see is true.

Do the gold thread wraps on the Golden Blonde Ombre braids survive washing?

Yes. The metallic thread is stitched in a criss-cross pattern directly into the braid. Squeeze gently around the wrapped sections instead of rubbing, and the wraps stay intact while you wear the set.

How long does the Golden Blonde Ombre set last?

One install lasts 1.5–2 months, and a set gives you 2–3 installs. The gradient is in the fiber itself, not painted on.

Can I change or remove the pendants on the Golden Blonde Ombre set?

Yes. The leaf and wing pendants attach with crimp rings. Open them with small pliers to swap in different charms or to remove them. The braided accents look clean with or without jewellery.

How do I handle tangles in the Golden Blonde Ombre curls?

Use only your fingers to pull the curls apart; a comb or brush should never touch them. If a knot is badly tangled, it may be carefully cut off.
