Handmade from low-temperature kanekalon in brown-copper, ginger and bright orange, Fox comes as 50 cm textured synthetic dreads in DE or SE. Each dread moves from dark brown-copper roots through warm ginger into bright orange tips. We call this three-tone gradient the fox palette.

The fox colour story of Fox
Three tones blend along each dread. The roots start in a deep, warm brown-copper. The mid-section turns into a true ginger that catches daylight. The tips finish in vivid bright orange. The ombre runs root to tip on every dread in the set, so it is not a mix of solid-coloured pieces.
Red and yellow thread X-wraps cross the bumpy surface in short diagonals. They are spaced unevenly, so the set looks lived-in rather than factory-uniform. Gold metallic beads sit between the wraps and pick up the warm copper tones. Slim three-strand braids run through the set, one per ten DE, for some variety in texture.
The ombre works on any natural base colour. Dark brunette hair blends into the brown-copper roots. Lighter bases pick up the ginger transition sooner. Either way, the orange tips carry the fox-fire accent.
Material and making
The fiber is low-temperature kanekalon. It is not heat-resistant, but the textured relief holds through rain, humidity and repeated wear. The goal is the look of mature locs rather than a polished finish.
Each set is made by hand in three steps. The process starts with backcombing the fiber using a comb. Next comes crochet work with a 0.4 mm hook, switching to a 0.6 mm hook when the dreads are thicker. Boiling water is the last step, and it fixes the relief in place. Each textured set needs 1–3 days of handwork.

Fox in DE and SE
DE dreads fold over a thin braid of your own hair and have no loop. Each SE dread has a loop that slips onto a strand of your hair, and that strand is braided around it. Learn the difference in our DE vs SE guide.
A full head usually calls for 40–50 DE or 80–100 SE dreads. A smaller set works for partial coverage. Want to combine textures? Care for Fox
Wash once a week at most. Mix one part shampoo with five parts water, work it into the scalp only, then rinse thoroughly. Leave out conditioner, because it loosens the thin braids of your own hair that hold the dreads. Air-dry after every wash.
Never comb or brush the dreads. Separate tangles with your fingers. A badly tangled knot can be carefully cut off.
