Description

Blonde Brown Boho Curly Dreads: handmade 60 cm SE synthetic dreads with crocheted roots and henlon curls, in wheat blonde, reddish brown and brown. The three tones are layered strand by strand, so no two dreads carry colour in the same place. That scatter gives the set its sun-touched depth, and the palette shifts as the light moves.

Each piece is built in two parts. A dense crocheted dread holds the upper 20–22 cm. Below it, the strand loosens into 38–40 cm of soft, flowing waves. A short two-centimetre fade blends the two parts, so the dread grows into movement without a hard join.

Colour: three natural tones, scattered

The mix looks earthy and grown-in. Warm blonde catches the highlights, reddish brown adds copper warmth, and medium brown grounds the whole set. It is a boho, outdoorsy palette rather than a salon gradient. Because the tones rotate from piece to piece, the set blends easily into most brown or blonde base hair.

We shot these photos in daylight, out of direct sunlight. Screens can shift the warmth slightly. The antler brooch in the photos is a styling prop and is not included.

The soft-wave curl and how it is built

The curl is a soft wave: a relaxed fall rather than a tight spiral, dropping from a crocheted root. It gives movement with no daily styling and no re-curling. The wave is set in the henlon fibre, so it keeps its shape through wear.

Each root is crocheted by hand, using a comb and a 0.4 mm hook. The fibre is locked centimetre by centimetre until the dread reaches its density. Below the root, the henlon waves fall loose. No machines and no wrapping are involved.

Over 13 years, the studio has made and sent out more than 5,000 sets. Before any set leaves, a maker with over ten years of experience checks it one last time.

Decorations and format

The trims lean full boho. Along the dread sections, thread wraps in cream, brown and white cross over each other in an alternating X-pattern. White wooden beads sit at intervals, and thin white lace ribbons soften the transition zone. Some strands carry small silver pendants on jump rings, shaped as moon phases, a dreamcatcher, a rose and a wing. Beads slide off, ribbons can be removed and pendants detach at the ring. You can wear the set fully decorated or stripped back.

These dreads come in the single ended (SE) format. Every piece ends in a free wave at the bottom, with a loop at the top. You slip the loop onto a strand of your own hair, then braid that strand around the dread. Every dread is 60 cm long. Most people need 60–75 pieces for a full head, though this depends on head size. Braided in, the dreads also work as a protective style that tucks your own hair away.

Blonde Brown Boho Curly Dreads: wear, care and reuse

Curly dreads need attentive care. These steps keep the waves in shape:

  • First two weeks: separate the strands daily with damp hands, so the waves settle into their natural hang.
  • Detangling: keep combs and brushes away from the curls. Separate tangles with your fingers. If a knot is badly tangled, it may be carefully cut off.
  • Washing: no more than once a week. Dilute shampoo 1:5 with lukewarm water, wash the scalp zone only, rinse well and air-dry. Leave out conditioner, since it makes the braids of your own hair that anchor the dreads come loose.
  • Heat: henlon, the fibre in the curls, withstands temperatures up to about 150 °C, so a sauna is fine. The wave is already in its final shape; to restyle it, use a flat iron at a moderate temperature and only through a damp cotton towel.
  • Nights: to shield the wavy ends from friction, put on a satin bonnet or tie the dreads in a loose low braid.

Re-braiding is due after 1.5–2 months of wear. Your own hair stays intact after removal, and a well-cared-for set gives 2–3 installs. Store the set loosely coiled, never folded into kinks, and away from direct sun. Every step is explained in our care guides.

To mix looks, buy another set as well. You could add 10 or 20 solid blonde or brown curly dreads to boost the highlights, or pair this set with a straight one for layers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does one set of Blonde Brown Boho Curly Dreads last?

You can wear one install of Blonde Brown Boho Curly Dreads for 1.5–2 months, then the roots need re-braiding. Cared for properly, the set can be installed 2–3 times.

How do I keep the curls of the Blonde Brown Boho Curly Dreads from tangling?

Separate the waves with your fingers, especially in the first two weeks. Never comb or brush them. For sleep, a satin bonnet or a loose low braid works well. If a knot is badly tangled, it may be carefully cut off.

Can I get the Blonde Brown Boho Curly Dreads in two tones or a single shade?

Yes. If the three-tone scatter feels too busy, message us before ordering. We can make a two-tone version, such as blonde and brown, or a solid warm brown as a custom set. Length, colour and number of pieces can all be changed on a custom set.

Can I heat-style or dye the Blonde Brown Boho Curly Dreads?

Yes, with care. Henlon handles heat up to about 150 °C, and the soft wave already has its final shape. To restyle it, use a flat iron at a moderate temperature and only through a damp cotton towel. The colour cannot be re-dyed at home.
