Description
The Brown Ombré natural dreads are made by hand from 100% Remy human hair, in DE or SE, at lengths from 25 to 60 cm. The colour runs from dark chocolate brown at the root to sandy light brown at the tips. The shift is gradual, the way an ombré grows out in real hair.

From dark root to sandy tip
The colour starts at a deep chocolate brown and opens slowly toward a warm sandy shade through the lower half. In shade, the dark root section reads almost black. In natural light, warm coffee undertones show. The lighter ends catch the sun differently from the roots. The colour moves through soft, blended layers. To see how the attachment types differ, read our guide on choosing your attachment style.
As with all Remy human hair, the cuticle on every strand points the same way from root to end (what is Remy hair?). That keeps the strands soft and smooth.
Silver charms hang at intervals along the dreads: a filigree leaf, a crescent moon and small teardrops. At the ends, the hair hangs free in loose waves. The charms clip on and can be moved or replaced. Want different pendants? In that case we build a custom set from scratch.
Every Brown Ombré dread is made by hand, and the only tools are a crochet hook and a comb. Nothing is wrapped, and no machines are involved. A maker with more than ten years of experience gives every set a final check before it leaves us. Our studio has made and shipped over 5,000 sets during more than 13 years of work.
You can choose between DE and SE dreads. A DE dread has no loop and simply folds over a thin braid of your own hair. An SE dread has a loop at one end that goes onto a single strand of your hair. The strand is then braided around the dread. Extension is the permanent format: the dreads are crocheted into your own dreads and stay in, with a correction every 3–4 months.
You can order 25 cm (10″), 30 cm (12″), 35 cm (14″), 40 cm (16″), 45 cm (18″), 50 cm (20″), 55 cm (22″) or 60 cm (24″). A full head usually takes 40–50 DE dreads. For accents in darker hair, 15–25 dreads are enough. Explore the complete range of colours and lengths.
Caring for Brown Ombré dreads
- Wear: A temporary braid-in install stays in for 1.5–2 months, after which you take it out and put it in again. A permanent install stays in for good and needs a correction every 3–4 months.
- Washing: No more than one wash per week. Dilute shampoo at one part to five parts water, wash just the scalp, then rinse well.
- No conditioner: Your own hair is braided thinly, and the dreads are attached to those braids. Conditioner makes those braids loosen.
- Colour care: A colour-safe shampoo keeps the sandy tones. Skip clarifying formulas.
- Tangles: Never comb or brush the dreads. Pull tangled tips apart by hand. If a knot is badly tangled, you may carefully cut it off.

The gradient makes this set a good accent colour. Add 10–20 dreads to a set in jet black or espresso for natural depth. The ombré does the blending for you. Wear them in a half-up bun or loose.
You can put this set in again and again, so it is not a one-time install. Remove the dreads gently, dry them flat and store them without folding. Photos are taken in natural light, and screens vary. Because this is real human hair, slight tone shifts between sets are normal.
On DaddyDread YouTube, real installs show the Brown Ombré gradient in actual light.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the sandy tips of the Brown Ombré set shift colour over time?
Both the chocolate roots and the sandy tips are stable browns with little drift under normal care. You don't need toning shampoo. To keep the balance, use a colour-safe shampoo without sulfates. The tips may turn a little warmer after many hours in the sun.
How is Brown Ombré different from the brown-to-blonde ombrés?
This ombré stays within the brown family, from chocolate roots to sandy light brown tips. It does not move into blonde. The effect is softer and needs less care. It blends well with medium to dark natural hair.
Can I dye the Brown Ombré set darker later?
Yes. Being human hair, the Brown Ombré set takes semi-permanent or permanent dye in any darker shade. You can deepen the roots or shift the tips toward a richer brown. Keep bleach away from natural dreads, because it stays in the hair and damages it over time. Want a lighter ombré? Order a custom set instead: email daniladaddydread@gmail.com. After dyeing, the hair loosens, so tighten the dreads again with a crochet hook. The guides at our Academy show how.
Which natural hair colour pairs best with Brown Ombré?
Dark to medium brown hair blends best, as the chocolate roots disappear into your base. Against lighter hair, the dark roots stand out clearly. Have black hair? We can make you a custom fade with roots matched to your hair and sandy tips. Email daniladaddydread@gmail.com.
DE or SE: which suits the Brown Ombré set?
DE suits a full install of 40–50 dreads and gives more volume. SE works for a partial install of 20–30 dreads, like accents in jet black or espresso hair.
Is a Brown Ombré set ever in stock?
We make each Brown Ombré set to order, so ready sets are seldom available. To ask what we have ready, write to daniladaddydread@gmail.com. Look under the buy button for the delivery cost and time to your country.
Can I get Brown Ombré with a different gradient or other charms?
We can make the gradient softer or stronger and shift the tips warmer or cooler. We can also swap the leaf, moon and teardrop charms for other pendants. Send a photo of your hair and we will match the shade to it. We share progress photos while we work. Email daniladaddydread@gmail.com.
Customer Reviews
Merci !
